Shazia Batool will receive Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
Quetta–Prominent Hazara artist, Shazia Batool will be awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence)–the fourth highest honor award from the Government of Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari will award Shazia Batool on 23rd March, 2010. She has also received National Youth Award 2008 from Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and many other highest awards in Pakistan. She has participated in many national arts exhibitions across Pakistan.
Browsing the Pakistani news, I found this piece more than two years later, I am very sorry for not having done it before that but I will not miss the opportunity to leave a couple of lines for this wonderful lady. Mashallah!
It was my great pleasure to meet her in 2002, while both of us worked for an international humanitarian organization in Quetta.
It was always refreshing to see her smile and dynamism around when she came to the Admin office for any of the duties she committedly performed day by day.
Dear Shazia,
I am sure that your community is as proud as myself of you. I thank Allah for having given me the opportunity of crossing your road in life and for allowing me to witness your remarkable growth.

I am “HAZARA”
Kill me and call it a
“success”
Imprison me and call it
a “Security Measure”
Exile my people and
masses and call it “progress”
Rob my rights declare me
me as Kafir and call it
“Development”
But listen I am “HAZARA”
and will remain “HAZARA”
forever
And remember”Every fall
has a rise”
And when “HAZARA” rise everything will fall.
“Proud to be HAZARA”
