All political activities at standstill

Quetta: All the political activities and election campaigning have come to a standstill in the Hazara resident areas of Provincial and National Assembly constituencies, PB-2 and 6 and NA-259 and 260 since the assassination of Peoples Party chairperson and former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, on Thursday. The election offices set up by all candidates contesting from both constituencies that used to be bustling activity centers a few days ago, are now presenting a deserted look.

Meanwhile, the people congregate in the petao or around heaters and kettles of hot tea due to the cold weather, as they discuss the repercussions of Benazir’s assassination on the elections.
