QUETTA: Balochistan Environmental Protection (BEP) Tribunal has ordered the Station House Officer (SHO) Brewery Police Station Hazara Town to comply with the directives of the Director General Mines and Mineral about stopping works in stone crushing plant in suburb of Hazara Town.
The SHO was further ordered to appear before the Tribunal and submit report regarding closure of works in the stone crushing plant on the next date of hearing.
The Tribunal headed by Balochistan High Court judge, Mr. Justice Mehta Kailash Nath Kohli and other members Naeem Kakar and Ishaq Ghaznavi was hearing a complaint filed by a citizen against the crushing plants which emit pollution and cause problems for the people of the area.
It may be mentioned that the crushing plants on the edge of mountains in suburb of Hazara Town is polluting the air in Hazara Town. Besides Bolan Steel Mill situated in New Hazara Town is also creating huge pollution in the area causing different lungs and other disease. It is needed to take notice of the Mill and remove it to any remote area.
