Quetta August 18: Minister for Quality Education, Jan Ali Changazi has termed the resignation of President Pervez Musharraf as “great triumph” of the nation and “unprecedented success of democracy” in the country.
Giving reaction of President Musharraf’s resignation, he said the ex-President Musharraf was elected unconstitutionally, as his qualification case was sub judice in the Supreme Court. He added that President had announced his resignation at the right time following the resolutions adopted by the four provincial assemblies demanding him to seek vote of confidence from the electoral college or step down immediately. He added that Musharraf made the sane decision by choosing the demand of the assemblies.
Jan Ali further said that the resignation of the President came peacefully without any spark of clash between institutions and people in the country. The resignation has improved the image of Pakistan in the international community and strengthened democracy.
He explained “The resignation is a great truimph of the democratic forces and its credit goes to Pakistan People’s Party-led coalition Government which launched a democratic movement against Dictatorship” (APP).
