Hazaras Send Relief Goods, Volunteers for Quake Victims

The Hazara community in Quetta has donated relief goods to people in Ziarat and other parts of Balochistan hit by the October 29 earthquake.

Provincial Minster for Presidential Program, Jan Ali Changazi, Hazara Democratic Party, and Itehad-e Tajiran Balochistan have taken several trucks of food and other supplies to Ziarat and adjoining areas affected by the earthquake.

The relief goods were collected from various donation booths set up in Mehrabad and Hazara Town. For over a week, the people donated warm clothes, blankets, food and other goods.

  1. Thank you for the insightful response to the idea Mr. Bamiyan.

I just ponder how can you label helping our Hazara brethern through financial means as ‘khairat’? You make it sound derogatry which is the complete opposite to its intended meaning.

Since you have outrightly rejected the ‘World Hazara Account’ suggesiton then I am very interested in learning how you propose that Hazaras outside Hazaristan can help in the development of Hazaristan? Can you please elaborate what entails ‘shoulders to shoulders’ as you have mentioned.

    regards,
    haider

  2. Guys I really want to know that if Syed Abbas Hazara is Syed OR Hazara?
Even though it is useless but it will mean alot in later discussions.

  3. In the name of Bamiyan …..
Hazaras dont need any contribution of money ..neither one should encourage such khairati programmes coz a single paisa will sabotage priceless trust ….but we should contribute shoulders to shoulders to achieve our most primary goal of an independent land …. it could be associated to afghanistan Govt. on some levels ….

  4. Very interesting question Mr. Farid.

It reminds me of the instance when the Mongol army was at the door of Baghdad and the rulers inside the city were debating whether eating Crows was haram or halal!

A useless and time wasting debate.

  5. Is Syed Abbas Hazara, hazara or syed?

  6. It is very encouraging to see that Hazaras are also contributing in the relief operations for the earth quake affected population. We should and must do it as it is our responsibility as neighbors to help them out in times of need.

However, the thought of helping our own brethren in Quetta and Hazaristan is also justified and we should ponder over this and take substantive steps.

I think there is a need to undertake a study on the Hazara population living outside Hazaristan. This includes the West, Australia and Pakistan as well as Hazaras here are relatively well settled and better off and in a position to extend help. The study should focus on the following aspects:

    1) Survey of population of Hazaras living in better off countries and who are in a position to spare a little for their Qawma.

    2) How much financial assistance can they afford which can be channeled to Hazaristan. The financial sum need not be a huge amount but has to be given on a consistent basis so that this is sustainable.

    3) The collection method and the mechanism of transferring it to Hazaristan

    4) The sum collected on a monthly basis should be spent on projects like Schools and Hospitals. The aim of which will be to raise the standards of living there. These projects need to be identified before hand so that politics should not creep in.

    5) The most important question of ‘Who will be the custodian of the process?’ – since we end up even questioning the utilization of the funds collected at our local Imambargahs? If this question is answered properly then this can be a very useful tool.

A simple example – we can open accounts in bank branches of Sydney, Oslo, London, Karachi, Quetta, Copenhagen etc…Hazaras can contribute whatever amount they want in these accounts and they get transferred to Kabul or Mazar…even better if can be done in Bamiyan! The custodians of the process will ensure that they utilize this judiciously and audit can be carried out on a regular basis.

All of this will work only if we have honest intentions…and there are projects on ground to show others that the funds are being judiciously utilized so that confidence is built and more people contribute.

    regards,
    haider

  8. Nisar jaan,
ya u r right we are not clear…
if we speak about disaster types, lets see just two of them (1) as you said Natural Disaster(earth qick etc), natural disaster is vert hard to control, becaz its control by Allha, God or Bagwan depends on path, and (2) Man made disaster (poverty etc), but it very sad this disastetr (man made disaster) is in our control. but no, for our own good or profit we make this kind of reasons or comment, tht some of our friends not clear about disasters.
Its very shame ful for us tht we cant help our self by creating this disasters by our own act and attitude and runging for salution of natural disaters… to make ppl fool, no body is concern about behind the scene…

And we are not saying tht dont help others but first start from ure home, if u cant do any thing for ure own home our family, dont thing tht u wil come wid any change, becaz u r not able to make a change for your self then how come u can change others mind or attitude…

Its great to have a good relationship wid our other brother trib… but show and prove tht we exist… start trust on our self, if we want to progress…

  9. Ahumble request to Nisar ….kindly use small….as its difficult to read all in caps….thanks

  10. SALAM TO ALL

MAY BE SOME OF MY DEAR FRIENDS ARE NOT CLEAR ABOUT A NATURAL DISASTER AND POVERTY.
IT IS TRUE THAT WE HAVE A LOT OF MUSTAHAKEEN IN OUR OWN QAUM, BUT THIS IS ALSO TRUE, THAT THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE AND ORGANISATIONS, WHO ARE TRYING THEIR BEST TO HELP THEM.
I THINK THAT IT JUST WANT TO BE ORGANISED ON A NATIONAL LEVEL, SO WE HAVE TO DIFFRENTIATE BETWEEN POVERTY AND NATURAL DISSASTER.
YOU ARE RIGHT THAT THERE ARE SO MANY CONTURIES AND ORGANISATIONS THAT WILL CERTAINLY HELP THEM BUT FIRST AS A HUMAN DUTY AND THAN AS A HAMSAYA, ANY DISSASTER HIT PEOPLE DESEVES OUR HELP.
THIS WILL CERTAINLY HAVE A VERY GOOD EFFECT IN OUR FUTURE RELATIONS WITH THEM.
AND ABOUT HELPING OUR HAZARAS IN HAZARISTAN, EVERY ONE KNOWS THAT AT LEAST HAZARAS OF QUETTA WERE NOT, FINANCIALLY, IN A POSITION TO HELP ANYONE IN SUCH A MANNER, BUT I AM SURE THAT WE WILL HELP OUR OWN PEOPLE ON A TOP PRIORITY..

  11. Hi to all,
    It is good effort… But
    bayshak farid, u r rite…
we, just think how to servive here, we become blind (not eye, its about mind) when it comes about our own home or ppl.

  12. These “Relief Goods” that has been sent by Hazaras to Ziarat- is this action a show off?

There are many Hazaras that are in need of this goods in hazara town and Marriabad. These hazaras live below the poverty line.

There are hazaras in Hazarajat that are victim of hunger and hatred. Have we helped them via any “Relief Good”?

These Hazaras should be the priority.

In juxtaposition, with earthquake in Ziarat, there are international countries, red cross and many more to support them financially.

  13. The discuss about “natives” and “refugees” are getting warm.
How about asking ourselves if Hazaras are “refugees”?
Most are of the belief that Hazaras have been in Pakistan for over 80 or more years. Does this time period makes us “native to pakistan”?

  14. SALAM KHALIQO

You may be right in a particular sense, but what can we say them?
    Hamsaya or some thing else?

  15. Commendable efforts.

    Really inspirational

  16. thats great yaar !

  17. Mr. Nisar Ali Nasir,

I think you are making a very strong statement here when you say “OUR natives.” This implies that we are not natives, but they are. I think you will need to revise your sentence, since non of the tribes in the affected areas are fully natives; all of them are settlers in that region.

    Thank you.

  18. SALAMS

This is a very great job, OUR organizations have done.Well done
I think this great job will improve the relations with OUR natives and it will also make a very good impression in the whole world…
    A VERY GOOD JOB
    JUST KEEP IT UP….
