Quetta May- 01- 2009–A Hazara family of six including a woman and children have drowned in a Malaysian sea on April 29.
The only survivor, a teenage boy named Aqil has said his mother, father, siblings aged 11 and 12 and, his uncle and aunt. Pakistani High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has confirmed the family was from Quetta identified as Juma Khan, Qasim Ali, Hameed, Zulqarnain, Siddiqa and Zainat.
Their overloaded boat drowned due to heavy wind. They had arrived Kuala Lumpur from Karachi on April 18. Aqil survived after swimming for 12 hours at midnight towards the mainland.
Pakistani High Commission has said the dead bodies would soon be sent to Quetta after post-mortem. It further said the family was on social tour of Malaysia.
